Go Away, Old Man Winter!

Seeing as how my Master Plan for escaping winter didn't quite turn out as planned....

I am Old Man Winter's Bitch again this year...

Which wouldn't be quite as bad if we had some of this:

Because we DO have a fireplace. But, wood ain't cheap and the City not only took the freakin tree they cut down out of the back yard, but also the 3 trees worth of wood that the POSSLQ had cut up and was letting dry. Assholes! Not that three trees worth of wood is ALOT, but it would have been a nice start and the POSSLQ busted his rear cuttin' the stuff up and they took ALL of it (I think it's mostly so they could charge our landlord the big bucks for all of the "cleanup" they had to do). Yeah. Whatever.

It is also less than optimal when the POSSLQ has to thaw after work daily, having come home much like this:

So, I do count my blessings to not have to be out in it. It's also a little scary because our vehicle needs some expensive work done AND the tires need replacing (bald tires + ice = me worrying) and since I am scared to drive in the winter even under the best conditions, I am sortve glad right now to not have to be going out. You would think that since snow and ice are an annual event here that people would know how to drive in such conditions. This is decidedly NOT SO... People don't adjust for the conditions and make it a hazard to be on the road with them.

I'd better get to bed, though. I desperately need to catch the mailman tomorrow (or get mail out to the box before Mr. Mailman does one of his infamous stealth deliveries!)
